| History of Buy a Bed, Give a Bed |
In 2017, as part of our Gambles Gives Back Initiative, Gamble Home launched the Buy a Bed, Give a Bed program. With every qualifying mattress* sold, we will donate a twin sized mattress to a local foster family in need. We are working with local non-profit Foster groups and charities to ensure that all of our donations are given where they are needed most. Our goal is to provide every foster child in our area with a place to rest their heads.
Gamble Home Furnishings is a strong advocate for giving back to our local community. Since its inception, the Gambles Gives Back program has provided over $100,000 worth of in-kind donations to local charities and groups. We believe that our "Buy a Bed, Give a Bed" program will drastically improve the quality of life for foster children and families right here in Region 8.
*Some Restrictions apply. Qualifying Mattresses include all mattresses $799 and up. Excludes any Clearance, Close-Out, or Floor Model mattresses.

- Locally, there will be more than a dozen children come into the foster care system today.
- There are 4500 children in state custody, with more than 500 waiting to be adopted right here in Arkansas.
- Although there are so many children in the Foster system here in Arkansas, there are only 1100 foster homes

Gamble Home / America's Mattress established its Gambles Gives Back program in 2012 with the goal of improving the lives of thousands of Northeast Arkansas and Southeast Missouri kids. The Gambles Gives Back program has collected over 5,000 items for kids and people in need. Gambles Gives Back continues to collect essential items through several in-kind donation drives: Mattress Drive, Shoe Drive, Clothing Drive, School Drive, Coat Drive and Toy Drive. Donated items are distributed to carefully chosen agencies in our area. Gambles Gives Back believes not everyone can be a parent, but anyone can help a child in need!
| The Needs of Area Children |
A growing child requires properly fitting shoes, seasonally appropriate clothing, warm pajamas to sleep in, a comfortable backpack and an ever growing list of school supplies. Many of these children were removed from their homes with just the clothes on their backs, making it necessary to replace essential items very quickly. For many families, the cost associated with doing this can be prohibitive. For children who have lost their family and are separated from their siblings, these small donations can mean the world, helping to boost their self-esteem and allowing them to fit in with their peers. Gamble Home and Americas Mattress has worked diligently with our non-profit partners to make certain we are continually working to improve the lives of our local foster children. Our Kids program responds to the direct needs outlined by our non-profit care partners to support children and families in our regions. Our child care partners have relayed the need to help replenish everyday essential items that children are often missing - as they may have never had a possession to truly call their own.

Throughout the year, Gamble Home and Americas Mattress hosts donation drives at our stores and in our communities to collect essential items that children often go without. Funds are also raised at our annual fundraising events, to provide children with access to life-shaping extracurricular activities, special childhood experiences. So come by any of our locations anytime and donate to help us make a local kids dream come true.
